1. Who we are

GoalIQ ("we", "us", "our") is a free World Cup 2026 fan app built by SimpleMarket (simplemarket.app). We are committed to protecting your personal data.

2. What data we collect

When you create an account:

• Email address
• Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)
• Display name (optional)
• Your selected teams

When you use the app:

• Match predictions you make
• Quiz answers
• Tournament predictions
• Push notification preferences
• Newsletter subscription preferences

We do NOT collect: payment information, location data, device contacts, or browsing history outside GoalIQ.

3. How we use your data

• To provide the GoalIQ service
• To show your predictions and leaderboard ranking
• To send push notifications about matches you follow (if enabled)
• To send the MoneySimplified newsletter (if you opted in)
• To send the SimpleMarket daily brief (if you opted in)
• To improve the app

4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)

• Contract: to provide the service you signed up for
• Consent: for marketing emails and push notifications
• Legitimate interests: to improve the service and prevent fraud

5. Data sharing

• Supabase (database hosting, EU/US data centres)
• Beehiiv (newsletter platform, only if you opted in)
• Anthropic (AI predictions — match data only, no personal data)
• football-data.org (match data, no personal data shared)

We do NOT sell your data. We do NOT share with advertisers.

6. Your rights (UK GDPR)

• Access your data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and data
• Withdraw consent for marketing
• Data portability
• Object to processing

7. Data retention

Account data: kept while account is active + 12 months after deletion. Prediction data: anonymised after tournament ends (July 19 2026). Newsletter consent: until you unsubscribe.

9. Push notifications

You can disable push notifications at any time in your Profile settings or through your device settings.

10. Children

GoalIQ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from under-13s. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to have it removed.

11. Changes to this policy

We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
